Breakfast at Tiffany’s

OK, it wasn’t breakfast at Tiffany’s, but it was breakfast at Applebee’s! We had over 50 people at our Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday morning, and we raised almost $500, including a few big donations!

Thanks soooo much to all you who came out to support us, and especially our helpers–the Cabrals, Gilpatrics, Pulkinens, Becky and her friend.  We couldn’t have done it without you!

I’m thrilled to report that not only have we met our financial goals, we have exceeded them!  God is so amazing!  All together, we raised over $12,000!  With some of the extra money, we’ll be able to give a sewing machine to each of the 16 women graduating from the Tailoring School in India sponsored by Comforter Action Mission Trust (CAMT).  The sewing machines will allow these women to provide an income for their families. How exciting!  We will be at their graduation next week and will be able to…

hand each of them their sewing machine!

Time is ticking away now for our departure.  Our flight out of Boston leaves at 5:30pm on Tuesday, 7/22.  We have a short flight to NY, and then a 16-hour flight to Bombay.  Yikes!  It’ll be 10pm on Wednesday, Indian time, when we arrive in Bombay, and we’ll spend the night in a hotel there.  On Thursday, we’ll take a 2-hour flight south to Coimbature, Tamil Nadu.  Pastor Jamie and some of his staff will meet us the airport for the 3-hour drive up into The Nilgris mountains.  Then, at last, we’ll be “home”–at least for a few days.

My next post will most likely be from India.  Yippee!  Now, we’re counting the hours…
